Wow, it has been 5 years already….

Yesterday we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and it was great.  We had a nice dinner out while Carter stayed home with the sitter.  It was nice to go to a table cloth restaurant for a change.    Thanks honey for 5 AMAZING years of marriage.  I love you more every day and I can’t imagine taking this journey of life and parenthood with anyone other than you.

We were married in a lovely garden at the Marriott in Lihue, Hawaii on the island of Kauai.  We had only 4 guests.  We “eloped” on my parent’s anniversary.  It wasn’t as bad as it sounds as they eloped on that very day too a mere 39 years prior!  We figured if it worked for them, it would work for us too.  

We were laughing at dinner about having to make the call home to our families with the news.  When I called my parents, my mom was not home so I asked my dad to relay the message.  His response still cracks me up.  He said, “Heck no, you have to call back when she is home and deliver it yourself!”   So I did call back and deliver the same message a little while later.

All in all, we did it our way and it was awesome.  Happy Anniversay dear hubby, and happy 44th anniversary to you too Mom and Dad, thanks for sharing your date with us!
